The HIVE

We’ve been buzzzzy little bees designing this sweet little honey of a pedal (went a little too far with this first sentence, I apologize). Using our own custom extrusion and a CNC machine, we’ve created a low profile pedal that is more than able to handle downhill runs but also equally suited for DJ or aggressive all-mountain riding. As with all of FireEye’s pedals for 2009, internals consist of a heat-treated cromoly spindle and a dual sealed bearing combination. One of the more distinguishing aspects of this pedal is its aesthetics. The hexagonal holes are uniformly machined straight through the pedal as to provide quick clearance of dirt, mud, feathers, skin, or whatever you may be riding through. Furthermore, it’s distinctive honeycomb design also relieves excess weight while still retaining the pedals strength and overall size of the contact surface. The 28 replaceable traction pins per pedal provide secure footing but you’ve got to watch out if they don’t fly up and sting you in the ankles. Available in black, bronze, and custom chrome plated.
