The SPUR II  (Vertical Chain Tensioner/Dual Cog Version)

Great for use in conjunction with our single speed kit (FE-SSK) to convert a 9-speed hub to a single speed in a flash. The Spur II isn't just great to use with hardtails like our original Spur, but we actually designed this beauty to be used with full suspension frames as well. For hardtails, the Spur II can be used just like our classic spring loaded Spur, but with the added protection of a second chain retention cog. For suspension frames, it helps simplify your drive train while providing proper chain tension throughout the frames travel. Since it is tucked closer to the chainstay than a classic rear derailleur, it is also less likely to get banged up than a classic rear derailleur. And unlike some chain tensioners which have no adjustability, the Spur II can be easily adjusted to fit pretty much any chainline and you can adjust the angle and spring tension of the derailleur mounted arm. The tensioner's body is made of heat-treated alloy and beautifully CNC'ed, anodized, and lasered to provide a superior easy-to-use product. Just screw the Spur into your dropout's hanger, thread your chain onto the cogs through the chain retainment cage, adjust it for the perfect chain alignment, then just start crankin' on the pedals! No more worries of chain slippage or annoying chain-clang.
